Lesson's Learned

When I was younger and more stubborn, I decided to go back to college after taking some time off and working for a year or so. I was working as a student aid for about 10-20 hours a week- my only source of income.
Long story short, I had no money but I was too proud to admit this and move home. Instead I opened a credit card and started paying for rent with it.
In no time at all, I opened another one with zero percent interest on balance transfers and transfered the balance to that one. And then another, and another. When all was said and done I had five credit cards open with balances on each. By the time I stopped charging things, I had over $5000 in credit card debt.
I haven't charged anything for over a year. I've learned my lesson on that. I am in the process of becoming truly debt free. I want to do this now and start great money saving/spending habits.
Drum roll please...
I just hit submit on my LAST credit card payment!!!! I am so excited!

Time Well Spent

This past weekend, I headed home for Cristina's wedding. Mindy M and Kara J hopped in my car and we took off Thursday night. It was a good trip.

At the bachelorette party Friday night it was fun to see all of the old crew and catch up.

The wedding on Saturday was beautiful. Cristina was a gorgeous bride, but I didn't take my camera in so I don't have any pictures. It was a huge wedding. Somewhere around 650 people.

Poor Kara got to spend a lot of time with my siblings- I don't know if she realized what she was getting into when she decided to come! We also went to the park...

Played some basketball...



Climbed on the playsets...

And played a little bit of baseball...

Or tried to anyway!

It was a good weekend and I'm really glad I was able to go!

I was out of town for training last week and I was proud of myself. It's hard for me to stop and take pictures of things that catch my eye. Especially when I'm by myself- but I did it on the way home. The drive was really pretty and I'm glad that I stopped to take some of these shots:

When I arrived at home, Aaron and I went up to my parents lot and hauled brush. We also had a fire both Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday we had some friends up to help us burn the brush. It's so much nicer to be able to sit and visit while you are burning... It's a job that needs to be done and I feel like we are finally seeing progress!

Motivated

This morning... I'm making tonight's dinner. It seems like lately when I get home from work I'm too tired to make anything. So this morning I decided to try making dinner already. That way I can just reheat it tonight.

I always give myself a couple hours to get things done before work. More often than not, I end up on the internet. I'm going to try to keep the computer off in the mornings. At least until I accomplish one item on my to do list everyday. We'll see how that goes. This morning, it sounds easy enough.
