Feeling Thankful

I'm feeling thankful for the little things today.

*I had a scheduled surgery on Monday and although they had to remove the entire organ which my cyst was on, it was benign. (Because of the age of some of my readers I won't go into detail about the actual surgery but read between the lines or feel free to email me if you are curious.)

*The doctor isn't worried. The matching organ appears to be completely healthy and I should recover normally.

*The surgery went well. I'm home now and feeling okay. Pretty groggy today, but I'm alright.

*Kelli and Drew came up on Monday and stayed until Wednesday morning. I'm stubbornly independent, so I probably didn't let her do as much for me as I could have, but it was really nice to have them here. Thank you Kelli! I really appreciated the help and the company!

*I also appreciated all the calls and flowers that I received when I was in the hospital.

*My family is coming up in a couple days and I'll get to spend a few weeks with them! I haven't had the chance to do that in years. I'm very grateful for that even if it is a health issue that gives me that chance.

*After Kelli left yesterday, Kara came and spent the day with me.

*I also will be going to spend the next couple days with my grandparents. It's overwhelming to know how many people are willing to help me out.

As my family is coming up and I have the time off of work to recover, I will not be on this blog too often. Expect me back in the first few weeks of August!

*Managed to have a wonderful weekend even though I worked on Friday and Saturday. I went up to the Harbor on Saturday night. It was the first time in a long time that I've been outside to see the stars. I forgot how many there are up here. We were also able to see the Milky Way.

*Haven't taken many pictures lately. I have decided that I really need to take a class. Any pictures that turn out are accidents. I don't know how to figure out what I want out of a picture and then take it. I'd like to learn.

*Been thinking about starting one of these

*I have surgery in a week and I'll be off of work for quite awhile. I'm thinking I may get some scrapbooking done. I'm sure I'll be checking out this blog, and this one and maybe here also.

*My mom is going to come up so I'll be spending time with her! I'm excited.

Must finally be summer

Jumped in the big lake today... And I didn't freeze! Didn't need a sauna to get in either...

Books

I love to read. And I will read books over and over. I have my list of favorites that I own, and those that I will someday own.

I haven't had time to read lately, but I'm going to coming up within the next month or so.

And I've read most of the books by my favorite authors. So I'm looking for suggestions- who do you read and what do you recommend?

How did it get to be June already?

Did you know that a Canadian football player once blew a tooth out of his nose? True story.

Why is it that just when you complete one thing, the next pops up and you are back where you started?

Aaron and I went over to his grandparents tonight. We were having a nice visit when I looked down and realized that not one, but both of my socks were on inside out...
